Possibly the best selling cookbook collection in the Dominican Republic, by author Silvia de Pou. The first book was published in the 1970s and has never been out of print since. This hugely popular book was extended to a collection with a second book published in the 80s and the next one in the 90s. Generations of Dominican cooks learned the basics from this cookbooks. The cookbook in every Dominican home and the perfect gift for the newlyweds.

The first book contains the classic Dominican recipes, the second book contains recipes for the advanced cook, international recipes with a Dominican flair. The last book, the largest of all three, contains mostly international recipes. All of the books are divided in the typical cookbook manner: Starters, soups, rice, meats, seafood, side dishes, etc.

En los años 60 Da. Silvia de Pou era una de las figuras más conocidas de la televisión dominicana con su programa de televisión Mujer 2000, que entre otras cosas tenía una popular sección de cocina. En esos años Da. Silvia publicó lo que sería la biblia de la cocinera dominicana: el primer tomo del libro de recetas Mujer 2000. En los 70s se publica el segundo tomo y le sigue el último tomo en los noventa. El primer libro incluye clásicos de la cocina dominicana, además de muchas recetas internacionales que son populares en la República Dominicana. Los dos siguientes amplian la oferta de recetas internacionales con gusto criollo. Estos libros, aunque de presentación modesta, son tremendamente populares en la Rep. Dominicana donde nunca han dejado de imprimirse desde que salió el primero. Es una excelente opción de regalo para novias.
